Vide order dated 2nd April, 2024 we had directed the learned APP to ask the concerned officer of the concerned police station to inform the respondent No.2 of the next date. The concerned officer was also directed to record the statement of the respondent No.2, as to whether the respondent No.2 intends to engage an advocate of her own choice, or would want an advocate from the Legal Aid Panel to espouse H.C.SHIV 1/2
18.ia139.24.doc her cause. The said statement was to be produced before the next date. 2.
Today, the learned APP has produced a report of the Sr.P.I. attached to Yerwada Police Station, Pune dated 17th April, 2022. From the said report, it appears that the police had taken efforts to contact the respondent No.2, however, she could not be traced and hence, the notice could not be served on the respondent No.2. The said report is taken on record.

Considering the report and since the application cannot be kept pending for very long, we deem it appropriate to appoint Ms.Sakshee Chavan, who is on the panel of Advocates of the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority.

Learned APP to serve a copy of the application on Ms.Chavan, learned appointed Advocate on or before 29th June, 2024. Statement accepted.
