Uday Warunjikar, Appointed Advocate for Appellant/Applicant Mrs. Kranti T. Hiwrale, A.P.P for the Respondent-State CORAM : REVATI MOHITE DERE & DR. NEELA GOKHALE, JJ.
WEDNESDAY, 5 th FEBRUARY 2025 P.C :
Advocate Ms. Soniya Miskin was appointed by the High Court Legal Service Committee, to espouse the cause of the applicant. Ms. Miskin prepared elaborate notes and was ready with the matter. Since the appellant had raised certain objections 1/3
with respect to Ms. Miskin, this Court appointed Dr. Warunjikar, who is also on the panel of the Advocates of the High Court Legal Services Committee, to espouse the cause of the appellant. Even he is ready with the appeal.
Today, Mr. Vagal, a private advocate, states that the appellant has instructed him to appear on his behalf. Considering that the appellant is in a position to engage a private advocate, which he is certainly entitled to, for availing the services of the counsel on the panel of the High Court Legal Services Committee, we deem it appropriate to direct the appellant to pay cost of Rs. 5000/- to Ms. Miskin and Rs. 5,000/- to Dr. Warunjikar. The same to be paid within one week from today. Mr. Vagal assures us that the same will be done within one week.
2/3
We permit Mr. Vagal to file his vakalatnama on behalf of the appellant. Hence, Dr. Warunjikar is discharged from the present case.
Stand over to 26th February 2025.
