The Applicant has challenged the Judgment and order dated 01.12.2020 passed by the Special Judge under POCSO Act, in POCSO Special Case No.80 of 2018. The applicant was convicted for commission of offence punishable under Section 376(2)(i)(n) of the I.P.C. He was sentenced to suffer R.I. for 15 years, besides imposition of fine.

Learned counsel for the applicant submitted that he is in poor financial state. After his conviction, there was communication gap between the applicant and his other relatives because of Digitally signed by VINOD BHASKAR GOKHALE Date:

13-ia-1027-24 spread of Covid-19 pandemic. He found it extremely difficult to approach an advocate. Therefore, there was a delay of 3 years and 28 days in filing the Appeal.

Considering these submissions and in the interest of justice, delay in filing the Appeal is condoned. The Appeal be processed further.
