(903)IA-2431-2024.doc State is desirous of examining the legal position, as to whether under Section 11 of The Maharashtra Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, De-Notified Tribes (Vimukta Jatis), Nomadic Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Special Backward Category (Regulation of Issuance and Verification of) Caste Certificate Act, 2000, a complaint can be filed resulting in invocation of the offences under Indian Penal Code. The learned APP would place on record decision of the Apex Court in the case of The State of Uttar Pradesh vs. Aman Mittal & Anr. qua the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and Indian Penal Code, 1860. At the request of the learned APP, list the Writ Petition on 01.08.2024 on Supplementary Board.
