The Applicants have challenged the Judgment and Order dated 15/03/2024 passed by the Special Judge, Mangaon, in Special Case No.39/2020. Both the Applicants were convicted for commission of offences punishable u/s 376-D, 376(2)(i) of the Indian Penal Code and u/s 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. The major sentence imposed on them was rigorous imprisonment for 20 years.

Learned counsel for the Applicants submitted that after their conviction, some time was lost in engaging an advocate, who took further time to collect the documents. The Advocate was not well for some time and therefore there is delay of 129 days in preferring the Appeal.

Considering these submissions and in the interest of justice, the delay in filing the Appeal is condoned. 4.
The Appeal be processed further.

The Interim Application is disposed of.
