The Applicant was convicted by the Special Judge under POCSO Act, Greater Bombay, in POCSO Special Case No.1168/2021. Vide the Judgment and Order dated 22/04/2024, the Applicant was convicted for commission of offence punishable u/s 366, 367(2) of the Indian Penal Code and u/s 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. The major sentence imposed on him was rigorous imprisonment for 20 years u/s 6 of the POCSO Act, Digitally signed by MANUSHREE NESARIKAR Date:

Learned counsel for the Applicant submitted that the Applicant is from poor financial background. There was slight delay in obtaining certified copy. Therefore, in all, there is 14 days delay in preferring the Appeal, though in the prayer clause the delay is mentioned as '1 day'.

Considering these submissions and in the interest of justice, the delay in filing the Appeal is condoned. 4.

The Appeal be processed further.
