This application is for condonation of delay of 167 days in filing the Appeal. The Applicant was convicted by the Special Judge under POCSO Act, Greater Mumbai, in Special POCSO Case No.665/2020. The Applicant was convicted for commission of offences punishable u/s 376(2)(i), 342 of the Indian Penal Code and u/s 4(2), 8, 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. Learned counsel for the Applicant submitted that he is from a poor financial background. He and his family did not know the procedure of filing the Appeal. They took some time to approach the Advocate and file this Appeal. Therefore, there is delay.

Considering these submissions and in the interest of justice, the delay of 167 days in filing the Appeal is condoned. 4.

The Appeal be processed further.
