The Applicant was convicted on 07/12/1999 for the offence punishable u/s 498-A, 306 of the Indian Penal Code, in Sessions Case No.144 of 1998, before the Additional Sessions Judge, Pune. The Applicant has preferred Criminal Appeal No.703 of 1999. It is admitted. The Applicant was released on bail. The case pertains to the suicide committed by the Applicant's wife on 28/11/1997. Heard Mr. Rajendra Shirodkar, learned counsel for the Applicant and Mr. Prashant P. Jadhav, learned APP for the State. 3.
Learned Senior Counsel submitted that he has good case on merits. He was working as a teacher at Uruli Devachi, Taluka Haveli, District Pune. But because of his conviction, his pension is withheld. The Applicant is an HIV Positive patient and is suffering financially. He needs his pension and other monetary benefits for his medical expenses. Therefore, it is necessary that the Appeal is decided at the earliest.

Considering these submissions and since the Appeal is pending since 1999, it shall be added to weekly final hearing board commencing from 14/10/2024. The liberty is given to the learned counsel for the Applicant to mention the matter for hearing if it does not reach.
