By this interim application, the applicant seeks a direction to the respondent No.3 to provide land and to make necessary arrangements for a dignified burial of the deceased's body and to provide security to the applicant and his family. 2.
Mr. Venegavkar, learned Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent No.1-State, on instructions, states that police N. S. Chitnis 1/2
prod.501-ia.3911.2024.doc have been deputed to keep a watch on the residence of the applicant, where he resides with his family, so as to ensure that no untoward incident takes place. He further states that if there are threats made to the applicant and his family, the police will take appropriate steps, on the police being informed of the same.

As far as providing land for burial of the deceased's body is concerned, Mr. Venegavkar, learned Public Prosecutor states that the police are taking steps to identify a secluded place where the burial of the deceased's body can be done. Mr. Venegavkar, learned Public Prosecutor states that the applicant and his family will be informed of the place where the burial of the deceased's body can be done, so as to enable them to remain present for the same.
