This is a Petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 for extension of mandate of the Tribunal. 3.

Learned Counsel for the parties submit that the arbitration proceedings are at the stage of final arguments. 4.

Hence, I am satisfied that substantial progress has been made and interest of justice would require the mandate to be extended. The Petition is therefore allowed in terms of prayer clause (a) which reads thus:- Shubham 1/2

2 68-COARP-39-2024.doc "a. That this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to extend the mandate of the Ld. Sole Arbitrator by a period of 24 months from 31 st December 2023"

However, given the fact that the matter is at the stage of final arguments, the time is extended for a period of one year from the date on which a copy of this order is uploaded. It is also made clear that there shall be no further extension granted to the parties and this is the final extension. 6.

Petition is accordingly disposed of.
