This is a Petition under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking an extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal, which expired on October 12, 2024.

Liberty is granted to file vakalatnama on behalf of the Respondent.

Today, when the matter is called out, Learned Counsel for the parties jointly submit that this would be the first extension, and jointly request for an extension of mandate by a period of one year, bearing in mind the stage at which the arbitral proceedings are placed without prejudice to all rights and contentions of the parties including the objections raised under Section 16 of the Act. In these circumstances, taking into account the stage at which the arbitral proceedings are placed, this Petition is finally disposed of extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of one year i.e. until April 8, 2026.
