This Petition has been filed under the provisions of Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act,1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitrator.

The Arbitrator was initially appointed by an order dated 8 December 2022 passed by this Court.

The parties have completed their pleadings on 2 May 2023 and thereafter the statutory period of one year expired on 2 May 2024. 4.

Thereafter, the parties by consent extended the time for the Arbitrator to make the Award to 2 November 2024. 5.

The learned Counsel for the parties have informed the Court that in the Arbitration the Claimant's evidence has been completed and the 1/2

Jyoti Pawar 909. ARBP 561.24.doc Respondent's evidence is about to start, and have therefore requested for an extension of one year for the Arbitrator to make his Award. 6.

In the aforesaid circumstances, the time for the Arbitrator to pass the Award is required to be extended by a period of one year. 7.

Accordingly, the following order is passed :- (a) The time for the Arbitrator to make his Award is extended till 31 December 2025.
