By assailing the order dated 5th January, 2019 issued by the office of the Additional Commissioner, Konkan Division in Appeal No.63 of 2019, whereby penalty of an amount of Rs.122 crores was reduced to Rs.6 crores, the Writ Petitioner had filed Revision Application No.3159 of 2022 under Section 257 of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966 on 19th April, 2022, which is pending disposal before the Authority. The limited prayer of the Petitioner is for issuance of a direction upon the concerned authority to dispose of this Revision Petition in a time-bound manner.

Mr. Mohit Jadhav, learned Addl. GP submits that despite letters issued, he is yet to receive instructions. 4.

Be that as it may, there is no controversy at the Bar that the Revision Application filed by the Petitioner is maintainable. Therefore, it will be incumbent upon the statutory authority to dispose of the same by a reason recorded.

In such circumstances, we do not see any justification, to keep this Writ Petition pending before this Court. As such, the Writ Petition is disposed of by providing that the Revision Petition be disposed of as expeditiously as possible, preferably within eight weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order, by a speaking order.

The copy of email/communication dated 21st February, 2025 issued by the learned Addl. GP seeking instructions in the matter handed over to the Court Associate, is taken on record and marked at "X" for identification.
