Heard learned counsel for the parties.

Ms. Ruju Thakker, learned counsel for the respondents, on instructions, points out that a show cause notice dated 17 March 2025 has now been issued to the petitioner and on instructions she states that same will be disposed of in accordance with law and on its own merits latest by 30 August 2025. She tenders reply on behalf of the Respondents. Same is taken on record.

Accordingly, we direct the concerned Respondent,

2 8-WP-4932-2024.docx consistent with the statement made before us, to dispose of the show cause notice dated 17 March 2025 in accordance with law and on its own merits as expeditiously as possible and in any event by 30 August 2025. The principles of natural justice will have to be complied with and a reasoned order must be communicated to the petitioner within this time limit.

All contentions of all parties are expressly left open. 5.

Further, we direct that until the disposal of the show cause notice and for a period of 2 months after its communication to the petitioner, the seized gold bangles may not be disposed of by the respondent.

With the above directions, we dispose of this petition. No costs.

All concerned must act on an authenticated copy of this order.
