In this Public Interest Litigation, the Petitioner seeks a direction to the Respondents to frame the Rules for implementing the provisions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. The Respondents have filed an affidavit in reply wherein in paragraph 4 it has been stated that in exercise of powers conferred under Section 101 of the Act of 2016, the Rules viz. "the Maharashtra State Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2024" have been framed and which have been published in the Maharashtra Gazette on 5th September 2024 and have come into force with effect from 5th September 2024.
