This is a Commercial Arbitration Petition filed under Section 29 of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 for extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal.

This is the first extension of time. The captioned Petition is not opposed by the Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the Respondent. Mugdha

I am informed that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of framing of issues and therefore I am satisfied that substantial progress has been made in the arbitral proceedings.

Given this position, I deem it fit to allow the captioned Petition in terms of prayer clause (a), which reads as follows :- "a) Extend the time period and the mandate of the Hon'ble Arbitral Tribunal comprising of the Sole Arbitrator, Mr. N.S.R.C. Prasad up to 12 (twelve) months;"

It is clarified that the time shall be extended from the date on which a copy of this order is uploaded.
