This is a Petition under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ("the Act") seeking an extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal, which had expired on June 30, 2024. 2.

Learned Counsel for the Petitioner submits that arguments in the proceedings have completed and only the passing of the arbitral award is left. In these circumstances, he prays for extension of mandate of the arbitral tribunal by a period of three months from today. It is seen from the record that this matter had been listed on January 7, 2025 and January 15, 2025. Since it was undated and it was felt necessary to ascertain the factual status. 4.

Having heard for an overview of the matter and considering the nature of the proceedings before the arbitrator, I am convinced that it would be appropriate to extend the mandate of the arbitral tribunal by a period of six months from today i.e. until July 30, 2025. 5.

In these circumstances, this Petition is finally disposed of in the aforesaid terms.

All actions required to be taken pursuant to this order shall be taken upon receipt of a downloaded copy as available on this Court's website.
