1. These Petitions have been filed under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking an extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

4.1 to 6.1-CARBP-460-2024 & Ors.doc Petitioner submits that the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal had actually expired on October 3, 2023 but unknown to the parties that the mandate had been expired, proceedings continued and an interim award came to be passed on June 14, 2024.

3. The Petitioner seeks an extension of mandate by a period of one year from today and submits that this is the first time an extension of mandate is being sought after the initial period of 18 months had passed. In these circumstances, taking into account the fact that an interim award has been passed last year, it would be appropriate to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal until December 31, 2025.

4. It is expected that the parties shall co-operate with the Arbitral Tribunal and ensure that the proceedings are completed within such extended time. It is clarified that the mandate is extended from October 4, 2023 and would continue until December 31, 2025.

5. All these Petitions are finally disposed of.
