The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent authorities to pass an award and pay fair compensation in accordance with the provisions of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 3.

"The petitioners contend that their lands were acquired for the Village Extension Scheme on 10.12.1985. In support of this contention, they have filed various documents along with the petition, including

911-WP-163-26.odt {2} 7/12 extracts dated 03.03.2005, a notice dated 25.09.1985 issued under the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, an application for a certified copy of the award dated 27.11.2020, and the Aadhaar cards of the petitioners. There is no document to suggest that the lands of the petitioners have been acquired. Further, there is no explanation in the petition as to why the petitioners had not taken up any proceedings since 10.12.1985 till today. In such circumstances, when the basic documents are absent, this is not a fit case where we should exercise our powers under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. 4.

The writ petition stands dismissed.
