Present petition has been filed for directions to the respondents to complete the acquisition proceedings and to pay the compensation for award which was passed under Section 25 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (hereinafter referred to as "the Act of 2013") in respect of the acquired lands of the petitioners. The petitioners state that their agricultural lands came to be acquired for the public purpose of creating project of Percolation Tank No.5, Bhandarwadi, Taluka and District Beed. A possession of the petitioners land was taken way back in the year 2004. Petitioners state that Executive Engineer, Beed Irrigation Division, has given proposal to the District Collector for initiation of acquisition proceedings on 23.02.2005, for which the Deputy Superintendent of Land Records, Beed has conducted a joint measurement on 29.03.2007. In spite of this, till date the acquisition proceedings have not been completed and the compensation has not been paid in accordance with law to the petitioners. The petitioners state that on 16.01.2020 Notification under Section 11 the Act of 2013 came to be issued.

The petitioners had preferred representation to the Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition) as well as to the District Collector, Beed for completion of Land Acquisition proceedings in pursuance of that Notification and declare the award and further to pay the compensation, however, till date no action has been initiated. The present petition has been filed for necessary directions. 3.

Learned AGP, appearing for the respondents/State, tenders letter dated 22.01.2026 wherein it has been mentioned by the Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition) Jayakwadi Project, Beed that the entire process under the Act of 2013 and final award in pursuance of the acquisition of the [2]

petitioners land will be completed within six months from today. The said letter is taken on record and marked as Exhibit-'X'. 4.

In accordance with the statement made in the letter dated 22.01.2026, the writ petition is disposed of with directions to the respondents to complete the acquisition proceedings within a period of six months from today.
