The Petitioner has put forth prayer clauses (a) and (b) which read as under :

"a. This Hon'ble Court be pleased to issue writ of mandamus and or any other appropriate writ, order and or direction and to quash and set aside the impugned Government Circular dated 11.12.2024 issued by the Respondent No. 2/ Ld. Under Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department, Mantralaya.

b. This Hon'ble Court be pleased to issue writ of mandamus and or any other appropriate writ, order and or direction to the Respondent No. 1 & 2 to comply with the directions in the Government Circular dated 16.04.1981 issued by the General Administration Department in filing the vacancy to the posts reserved for ex-servicemen on unavailability of eligible ex-servicemen".

Issue notice to the Respondents, returnable on 5th March, 2025. The learned AGP waives service of notice on behalf of Respondent Nos.1, 2 and 4, State.

Considering the urgency expressed by the learned Advocate for the Petitioner, let the affidavits-in-reply be filed, on or before 20th February, 2025. Rejoinder affidavit, if desired, to be filed, on or before 21st February, 2025.
