It is brought to the notice of this Court that the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Mumbai, has already made a request to the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission to pass necessary orders for transferring the subject complaint from the said District Commission to any other appropriate District Consumer Forum, as deemed fit in the facts and circumstances of the case. It is further submitted that the said request is presently pending consideration before the State Commission.

Having regard to the principles of natural justice, and in order to avoid any further delay in the adjudication of the consumer dispute, it is imperative that the issue of transfer is

2-wp4628-2025.doc decided expeditiously. Delay in such administrative processes tends to frustrate the very object of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, which mandates the expeditious disposal of consumer disputes in a manner that is just, fair, and reasonable.

In view thereof, and in the larger interest of justice, it is requested that the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission shall consider the aforesaid request of the District Commission and pass appropriate orders thereon, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of two weeks from the date of production of a certified copy of this order before the State Commission.

With this clarification, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
