Till 30 April 2025, no coercive steps in the form of appointment of Administrator shall be initiated against respondent No.7 as, according to the petitioners, the election was held uncontested and the Authorities under the Act has refused approval in exercise of power under Rule 19-M of the Election Rules. It is, therefore, necessary to examine the scope of power of the Authority in the context of grant of approval for uncontested election.
