The Petitioner's claim of belonging to the Khatik (OBC) (Muslim) has been invalidated by the Competent Committee. 2.

Issue notice to the Respondents, returnable on 30th June, 2025. The learned AGP waives service of notice on behalf of Respondent Nos. 1 and 2, State.

The learned AGP submits that the Petitioner has a caste certificate of Kasai-316 (Other Backward Class) and does not have a Trupti

917-wp6299-2025.odt Khatik (Other Backward Class) certificate. He got elected to the post of Sarpanch which was reserved for the Other Backward Class category, by claiming that he belongs to the Khatik OBC category. 4.

Insofar as interim relief is concerned, we note that the post of Sarpanch was reserved for the Other Backward Class category. The Petitioner got elected to the post of Sarpanch, on the ground that his claim of belonging to the Khatik community was pending validation. However, he does not have a Khatik caste certificate and without which he cannot claim validation of his claim of belonging to the Khatik. He has a Kasai caste certificate. However, the Petitioner never sought validation of the Kasai certificate which he has. In these circumstances, no interim relief.
