Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.
By this petition, the petitioner inter alia has prayed the following prayer:
"(a) to issue a Writ of Mandamus and/or any other appropriate Writ, Order and/or direction in the like nature directing the Respondents to re-fix the pay and salary of the petitioner in the pay scale of Rs.650010500 w.e.f. 1.10.1994, pay scale of Rs.8000-13500 w.e.f. 1.1.1996 under the Assured Progress Scheme and the pay scale of Rs.15600-39100 with effect from 01/01/2006 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400/6600 w.e.f. 1.1.2006 till the retirement of the petitioner, i.e., upto 31.5.2012 and the arrears of pay and salary be granted to the petitioner from the said respective dates with interest thereon".

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the decision of this Court in Dr.Maruti L. Chougale vs. The State of Maharashtra & Anr.1 squarely covers the issue involved in the present petition.
