The petitioners, by this petition, seek correction in the caste mentioned in their school records.

The caste of the petitioners is mentioned as "Lingder", whereas the petitioners belong to "Gawali" caste. In support of their claim, the petitioners have filed on record validity certificate issued to their blood relative.

If the school record is to be corrected, respondent no.4 will have to submit the proposal in that regard to respondent no.3, who will then consider the said proposal and the representation filed by the petitioners on 26.04.2023 and decide it on its own merits. 4.

In the result, the writ petition is allowed. Respondent No.4 is directed to forward the proposal for correction in caste column of the

9375.2025WP.odt petitioners' school record from "Lingder" to "Gawali" within a period of four weeks from today.
