This petition was taken up on production board due to grave urgency projected on behalf of the Petitioners. A statement is made on behalf of the Petitioners that they are yet to be relieved from their posts in pursuance of impugned transfer orders dated 22.08.2025. It is further brought to the notice of this Court that in petitions raising identical issues, notices have been issued and interim reliefs have been granted in some of the petitions, particularly in those where the Petitioners were yet to be relieved from their posts.

The learned counsel for the Petitioners submits that the impugned transfer orders were issued on 22.08.2025. These are mid term

( 2 ) p1 wp 11190.25 transfers and they are in the teeth of clause 5.6 of Government Resolution dated 18.06.2024, which mandates that ordinarily the transfer orders shall be issued between 1st May and 31st May of the year. No special reasons have been recorded as to why such mid term transfer orders have been issued in the cases of the Petitioners.

In view of the above, issue notice to the Respondents, returnable on 03.10.2025. The learned AGP waives notice on behalf of Respondent Nos.1 and 2. Since a specific statement is made that the Petitioners have not been relieved from their present posts, status quo as on today shall be maintained till the next date of hearing. 4.

The Petitioners are directed to file an additional affidavit giving details of the choices that they had given when the transfers were intended to be undertaken under the aforesaid Government Resolution.
