The Petitioner is before us with a very simple request. His father's name is 'Mohd.', which is spelt in full as 'Mohammed'. In short form, it is spelt as 'Mohd.' or 'Md.". The SSC and HSC Certificates carry the name of his father in short form instead of Mohammed Rehan Mohammed Rafiq Sayed. A representation is already made to the Education Officer of Zilla Parishad, Thane on 19th June, 2025 praying for a direction to the Board for correcting the name in the aforesaid two Certificates.

The learned Additional Government Pleader submits that this Court may direct the representation to be decided within a time frame. Gitalaxmi

In view of the above, we direct Respondent No. 1 to favourably consider the representation and permit the correction in the name of Petitioner by directing the Board to replace the short forms as under :- "Mohd. = Mohammed Md. = Mohammed"

The surname of the Petitioner 'Sayed' shall be maintained in the said Certificates.

Let such order be passed with 7 working days. Consequentially, the HSC and SSC Boards be directed to carry out the corrections in the said two Certificates and issue fresh Certificates with full name of the Petitioner, expeditiously.

This order may be shown by the Petitioner to the College. 6.
