The challenge in this Petition is to an order dated 30 August 2024, passed by the Maintenance Tribunal under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2019.

The Petitioner has preferred an appeal before the Appellate Tribunal under Section 16 of the Act, 2019. Since the Petitioner has already invoked the appellate remedy, there is no propriety in entertaining the writ Petition. 8.
Learned Counsel for the Petitioner made a grievance that, the appeal is not being heard expeditiously.

The Petitioner shall appear before the Appellate Authority on 13 October 2025. The Appellate Authority i.e. District Collector, Alibag - Raigad, is requested to hear and decide the appeal preferred by the Petitioner as expeditiously as possible, and, preferably within a period of two months from 13 October 2025, the date scheduled for the appearance of the Petitioner. 10.
The Writ Petition stands disposed.
