By an order dated 23rd March 2026, the Hon'ble Supreme Court whilst quashing the impugned order and judgment dated 2nd February 2026 passed by this Court in Writ Petition No. 12718 of 2025 directed this Court to once again take up and decide the matter on an expeditious basis. The Hon'ble Supreme Court also directed the Respondent herein to file his reply within a period of four weeks from the date of the said order. The four weeks expired on 22nd April 2026. No such reply was filed by the Respondent. 2.

Today, Mr. Nilesh Kadam, learned Counsel who appears on behalf of Respondent, seeks extension of time to file the said reply and submits ------------------------------------- Order dated 1st June 2026

Considering the delay, this Court is inclined to condone the same. However, the same cannot be routinely granted and the Respondent will have to be put to some terms. Accordingly, subject to the Respondent making payment of a sum of Rs. 25,000/- to the Tata Memorial Hospital, on or before 8th June 2026, the Registry shall take the said reply on record. Upon this, the Petitioner shall be permitted to put in his rejoinder, on or before 22nd June 2026. 4.

Needless to state that if the Respondent fails to comply with this order, the right of the Respondent to file his reply shall stand forfeited.
