Present petition has been filed for seeking direction to deliver the information sought by the petitioner under Right to Information Act within a period of four weeks and also departmental action against the officers responsible for the delay in supplying the information sought by the petitioner who has been permitted by the Information Officer by order dated 17.01.2024.

The contention of the petitioner is in spite of there being a specific direction, the information was not provided and, therefore, he had to approach the higher authorities by way of 01st April and 02nd April in each as well the authorities have directed to provide the information sought by the petitioner at the earliest. In fact, in the order dated 09.04.2025, the Commissioner of State Information Commission has directed to implement the orders passed under the Right to Information Act. In spite of such order, the information provided to the petitioner, but it was a wrong information and, hence, the petitioner again had to approach higher authorities wherein the order came to be passed on 912-WP-15177-2025.odt
07.07.2025, directing the authorities to provide the information within a period of 15 days from the date of order.

When this matter was heard on 20.01.2026, we had directed the learned AGP appearing for the respondents to take instructions from respondent No. 3 as to what action has been taken by the communication dated 16.08.2024 of the petitioner as well as the orders passed by the authorities and the State Information Commission. 4.
Today, learned AGP, upon instructions from respondent No. 3, states that the information sought by the petitioner and the action has recommended by the authorities by order dated 09.04.2025 will be complied with by the respondent No. 3 within a period of four weeks from today. The statement of the learned AGP is accepted as undertaking.

Respondent No. 3 is directed to abide by the statement made by the learned AGP to this Court and provide the information to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from today. Accordingly, writ petition stands disposed of.
