Prima facie, this appears to be a classic case of the Revisional Authority having exceeded its statutory powers by failing to comply with the mandate of Section 154(2A) of the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960. The said provision has been held to be mandatory by this Court as well as by the Supreme Court in several judgments, and strict compliance thereof has been repeatedly directed. Despite specific objections having been raised before the Revisional Authority, the revision preferred by the respondents has been entertained on merits, and the order passed under Section 154B-29 has been set aside.

Hence, issue notice to respondents, returnable on 23 December 2025.
