In this Public Interest Litigation (PIL), the petitioners seek direction to Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to provide a temporary slaughter house on Survey No. 202, Pimpri for the time being.

Learned counsel for PCMC submits that a proposal was sent by the Commissioner, PCMC on 30th April 2014 to the State Government for setting up the slaughter house. However, the State Government, by an order dated 9th October 2015, has stayed the proposal made by the PCMC.

In response to a query, learned counsel for PCMC orally submits that the stay granted by the State Government still subsists, whereas, learned counsel for the petitioners has disputed the aforesaid submission orally.

In view of the aforesaid, we direct the PCMC to file an additional affidavit clearly stating whether the order dated 9th October 2015 passed by the State Government granting stay on the proposal submitted by the PCMC still subsists. Let the said affidavit be filed within one week.
