By order dated 9th October 2025, this Court had directed the respondents to consider the petitioner's prayer for release. As the said order was not complied with, the present Contempt Petition came to be filed. During the pendency of the petition, the petitioner has been released from Kolhapur Central Prison on 1st March 2026. Accordingly, the order dated 9th October 2025 passed in Criminal Writ Petition No. 5597 of 2024 stands complied with.
