1. Registry to waive office objections and register the matter.

2. The interim relief prayed for in this application is on the apprehension that the Respondent Nos.4 to 14 may be promoted to the post of Police Inspector earlier in point of time to the Petitioners; this is based upon the challenge in the petition that the Petitioners are senior to the Respondent Nos.4 to 14, on the basis of their date of initial appointment, or as alternatively argued, from the date of their 11th March, 2026

9 MCA 135 2026 confirmation in the post of PSI.

3. If this be so, obviously, the process of promotions of the Respondent Nos. 4 to 14, if they fall within the zone of consideration for such promotion to the post of PI, should not be restrained, considering that the posts are in the police force. We therefore deem it appropriate to make the promotions of Respondent Nos. 4 to 14, if they take place, subject to the outcome of this petition.

4. Considering the issues raised in this petition, this petition may be listed on the final hearing board commencing from 08.06.2026.
