In the respondent Municipal Corporation the petitioners, who were working as a Junior Engineer, sought promotion to post of Deputy Engineer which is subject to approval of the State Government.

The petitioners are aggrieved by the approval ordered by the State Government whereby the juniors of the petitioners are granted promotion by bypassing the legitimate claim of the petitioners. 4.

Issue notice for final disposal to the respondents, returnable on 30.1.2025.

Mr. H.D. Marathe, learned Assistant Government Pleader waives notice for respondent No.1.

6.

Further action, if any, based on the impugned approval granted by the State Government shall be subject to outcome of this writ petition.
