JANUARY 20, 2025 The petitioner, who was appointed as Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat - Matharjun, Taluka - Zari Jamni, District - Yavatmal, has been disqualified by the authorities below in terms of Section 14(1)(g) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1959, which provides that no person shall be a member of panchayat continue as such, who has directly or indirectly, by himself or his partner, any share or interest in any work done by order of the panchayat or in any contract with, by or on behalf of, or employment with or under, the panchayat. The issue is whether there is material to show that either the petitioner or her partner has share or interest in the payment made to petitioner's son in the work of medical camp ?

2] Issue notice to the respondents returnable on 27/1/2025. Notice on interim relief also.

3] The learned A.G.P. waives notice for respondent nos. 1 and 2.
