DATED : 04 th FEBRUARY, 2026.
ORAL JUDGMENT (PER :
NANDESH S. DESHPANDE, J.) 1.
Rule. Rule is made returnable forthwith. Heard finally. 2.
The petition seeks a declaration that the petitioner is entitled to salary from the date of acquittal in the criminal offence and for continuity in service. As a matter of fact, the order which we propose to pass and the directions therein are innocuous; therefore,
WP827.26.odt 2/2 issuance of notice to the respondent is being dispensed with. 3.
As pointed out by the learned counsel for the petitioner, his request applications/representations dated 22.05.2024 and 18.06.2024, at Annexure-P/5 and Annexure-P/6 of the petition, are still pending with the respondent.
4.
It would, therefore, be in the interest of justice that we direct the respondents to decide the said applications in accordance with law expeditiously and, in any case, within four weeks from the date of receipt of the order. We further direct that the petitioner shall appear before the respondent on 11.02.2026 and apprise the authority of the said order, who should act accordingly. 5.
The Petition is disposed of accordingly.
