The petitioner has been disqualified for not submitting caste validity certificate within one year in terms of Section 10(1A) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1959.

The petitioner has been elected as member in bye-election held in the month of January, 2022. The results were declared on 15/01/2022. The petitioner had submitted application to the Caste Scrutiny Committee on 06/12/2021. The acknowledgment given by the Committee indicates that the petitioner, upon elected, should immediately present himself before the Committee.

When enquired, as to when did petitioner present himself before the Committee, the Counsel for the petitioner sought time to take instructions.

04.

The learned A.G.P. shall also take instructions in this regard. 05.

Stand over after two weeks.
