The petitioners herein are the real sisters whose claim is pending before the respondent - committee in relation to their social status as "Halba Scheduled Tribe". It is brought to our notice that the claim of the father of the petitioners herein has been validated by the Co-ordinate Bench of this Court in Writ Petition No.1516/1983 and the validity has been issued in favour of the petitioners' father. The said order is endorsed by the Hon'ble Apex Court while dismissing the Special Leave Petition bearing No.10503/1987 presented by the State of Maharashtra vide its order dated 30/11/1987.

In the aforesaid backdrop, the on-line applications dated 25/04/2024 and 24/06/2024 are

2 109-WP-2333-2025.odt presented by both the petitioners herein seeking validity of their social status. Although the committee is under statutory obligation to decide the applications in the wake of The Maharashtra Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, De-notified Tribes (Vimukta Jatis), Nomadic Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Special Backward Category (Regulation of Issuance and Verification of) Caste Certificate Act, 2000, however, for no justifiable reason, the claim is pending with the respondent - committee, since June, 2024.

In the aforesaid backdrop, we direct the respondent - committee to decide the pending claim of the petitioners, preferably within three months from today. 4.

With the aforesaid directions, writ petition is disposed of.
