Heard Shri Sachin S. Joshi, the learned counsel for the petitioner. 2.

The contention is that the husband of the petitioner, who was an employee of the respondent no.2, died in harness on 27.02.2024. The petitioner is the wife who was dependent upon the deceased employee and having no source of income, she applied on 13.03.2024 to the respondent no.2 for grant of appointment on compassionate basis. The said application is at record page No.19-Annexure-E. 3.

Shri Joshi, the learned counsel, submits that even after passage of more than two years now, the aforesaid application is not yet decided by the respondent no.2.

In view of above, we dispose of the present writ petition with a direction to the respondent no.2 to decide the aforesaid application dated 13.03.2024 for grant of appointment on compassionate basis within stipulated period of eight weeks from the date of production of copy of this order, in accordance with law and on its own merits. 5.

The decision taken thereupon shall be communicated to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of such decision. 6.

With these directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
