The petitioner has challenged the order passed by the Additional Collector as well as the Additional Commissioner, thereby disqualifying the petitioner as Member of Gram Panchayat, in view of the alleged disqualification under Section 14(1)(j-5) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act. Learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has produced before the authorities "self certificate" as per Section 14(1)(j-5) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act and as such the impugned order based on the inference that the certificate from the Gram Panchayat is not produced is unsustainable.

Issue notice to the respondents, returnable after three weeks.

Learned AGP waives service of notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 and 2-State.

In the meantime, parties shall maintain status quo as on today.
