The challenge in the present petition is to the order of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Umarkhed, rejecting issuance of Caste Certificate to the petitioner, which has been confirmed by the Scrutiny Committee. After arguing the matter for some time, when we confronted the learned counsel for the petitioner regarding explanation in the petition for non-filing of a relevant document, which according to him has a bearing on the outcome of the case and/or non-appearance of the petitioner before the Scrutiny Committee, learned counsel for the petitioner candidly states that there is no such explanation. He, however, seeks leave to amend the petition to incorporate such additional grounds and factual aspects for explaining the said aspects.

In that view of the matter, leave to amend the petition is granted. Place the matter for further consideration on 03.02.2026. Amendment, if any, to be carried out within one week from today, and the amended copy be served on the other side.
