In view of the reply filed by respondent No. 3, particularly the statements made in paragraphs 5 to 9, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that nothing survives in the present petition and that the purpose stands served. However, he requests that a time frame be fixed within which the respondent-University shall complete the promotion process.

In response, the learned counsel for the respondentUniversity submits that the process can be completed within a period of four months.

Accordingly, we direct the respondent-University to complete process of promotion within a period of five months from today.

The learned counsel for the respondent-University nd.thawre

2/2 undertakes to communicate a copy of this order to the concerned authorities of the University within a period of one week from today.

If the petitioner makes a representation seeking grant of deemed date of promotion, the University may consider the same in accordance with law.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of in the above terms. No order as to costs.
