It is the contention of the petitioner that during pendency of the present petition, the petitioner obtained some of the substantial documents pertaining to preconstitutional period belonging to his blood relatives from paternal side. It is submitted that those are therefore necessary for proper adjudication of the present petition. For the reasons stated in the application, the same is allowed. The petitioner is permitted to file those documents mentioned in the application on record. The application stands disposed of.

Heard the learned counsel for the parties.

The application bearing Civil Application (W) No.181 of 2026 came to be allowed and the petitioner is permitted to place certain documents on record. Out of them, some are prior to 1950 and those were not before the respondentScrutiny Committee when the order came to be passed by it. As such, it would be appropriate to remand the matter back to the respondent-Scrutiny Committee for verification of the caste claim of the petitioner, in view of the documents placed before this Court in view of order in Civil Application (W) No.181 of 2026. Therefore, we are inclined to allow the present petition partially by remanding the matter back to the respondent-Scrutiny Committee for verification of caste claim of the petitioner afresh.

Hence, the petition is partly allowed.

The matter is remitted back to the respondentScrutiny Committee for verification of caste claim of the petitioner afresh.

The order dated 04/06/2024, passed by the respondent-Scrutiny Committee in Case No.JC/TCSC/NGP/I/ 698/31/2022 is hereby quashed and set aside.

The petitioner is directed to appear before the respondent-Scrutiny Committee on 20/04/2026 at 11.00 pm. along with all relevant documents.

The respondent-Scrutiny Committee is hereby directed to grant opportunity to the petitioner to place on record those

3/3 documents and also grant hearing in relation to the documents. It is expected that the respondent-Scrutiny Committee shall decide the claim of the petitioner within a period of three months from 20/04/2026.

The petition stands disposed of in the above terms. No costs.
