Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners.

Ms. H.N.Jaipurkar, learned AGP appears and waives service of notice on behalf of respondent nos.1 and 2. As well, Mr. A.S. Mehadia, learned advocate appears and waives service on behalf of respondent no.3.

Considering the innocuous prayer made by the petitioners, with the consent of the learned counsels appearing for the respective parties, the petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of issuance of notice. 4.

By this petition, the petitioners seek a direction to respondent no.3 - Nagpur Municipal Corporation to convene a meeting of the Departmental Promotions Committee to finalize the list of proposed promotees as per the Rules applicable to them.

The petitioners are working as Tax Inspector, Revenue Clerk and Senior Grade Clerks. The promotional post for the petitioners is the Superintendent in respondent no.3 - Corporation. There is no dispute that various posts of the Superintendent are vacant since long. 6.

Therefore, we feel it appropriate to dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent no.3 - Nagpur Municipal Corporation to convene a meeting of the Departmental Promotions Committee at the earliest but before 15.02.2026. No order as to costs.
