2. The Petition complains of non-disposal of two proceedings initiated by the Petitioner against Respondent No. 10, alleging illegal construction on converted land bearing Survey Nos. 163/1 and 163/2 of Village Morjim. One of the proceedings has been filed under the Land Revenue Code before the Deputy Collector, seeking adjudication in respect of the alleged illegal conversion of the said land under the 30th March, 2026

31 WP 215 2026 provisions of the Land Revenue Code. The learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for the Deputy Collector, on instructions, states that the said proceeding bears No.

DCP/LRC/ILL-CONV/8-44/2024 and that the same shall be disposed of within a period of six months from today.

3. Similarly, the second proceeding, which is pending before the Deputy Director of Panchayat, pertains to a complaint regarding inaction on the part of the Village Panchayat of Morjim under Section 66 of the Panchayat Raj Act. The learned Additional Government Advocate, on instructions from Respondent No. 7, states that the said proceeding bears No. DDPN/MORJIM/PER/13/2025 and that the same would be disposed of within a period of three months from today. The statements made by the learned Additional Government Advocate on behalf of Respondent No. 4/ Deputy Collector, Pernem, and Respondent No. 7/ Deputy Director of Panchayat, are accepted.

4. In view of the aforesaid statements, the Petition stands disposed of with a direction that the aforesaid proceedings shall be decided expeditiously, as far as possible, and within the timelines specified by the parties.
