Mr.P.B.Patil, learned counsel for the respondent-Irrigation Project Investigation Board and learned Assistant Government Pleader have invited our attention to the communication dated 8th July, 2025, issued under the signature of the Section Officer. It is stated therein that framing of the policy and the issue of compassionate appointment are under consideration. 2.

The said communication appears to be nothing more than an eyewash and could be viewed as a serious impediment on the part of the respondents in the process of administration of justice.

In view of above, we would have been compelled to initiate contempt proceedings against the Principal Secretary of Department. However, by way of last chance, we direct the Executive Director and the Principal Secretary/Additional Chief Secretary of Department of Water Resources, to report compliance with the order.
