ORAL ORDER:

Registry to waive office objections and register the matter. 2.
This is an application for confirmation of a Foreign Judgment/Decree granting Divorce to the Petitioner. The application has been filed under Article 1101 of the Portuguese Civil Procedure Code read with Section 13 of the Civil Procedure Code.

The Respondent has been served vide email by this Court pursuant to the order of this court dated 10.11.2025 and has attended the proceedings through video conferencing since he resides in Harrow, United Kingdom. He records his no objection to the grant of the petition and cancellation of the entry of marriage between him and the Petitioner in the Marriage Register at Salcete at Margao. The Registrar of Marriages at Salcete, Margao is directed to cancel the entry of registration of marriage under No.1995/2018.

The parties had registered their marriage before the Civil Registration Office of Salcete at Margao, South Goa and entry to that effect has been made under No.1995/2018 dated 23.10.2018 in the Marriage Registration book of the year 2018.

Due to differences which arose between the parties, the Applicant filed proceedings for dissolution of marriage registered in Goa, before the Family Court at HM Courts and Tribunal Service , United Kingdom in Case No. 1657-8809-4629-4377 and vide order dated 07.03.2023, conditional order granting divorce was passed. 6.
By a Final Order dated 04.05.2023, by the Family Court at HM Courts and Tribunal Service, United Kingdom, the conditional order was made final, a Certificate of Final Order (Divorce) was issued to that effect. 7.
On perusing conditions of the Final Order passed, the same does not appear to be a Judgment passed based on law contrary to the Public Policy of India and appears to conform with the laws of the land, as would be applicable to the parties, within the State of Goa. Consequently, the application is allowed. The Final Order dated 04.05.2023 Family Court at HM Courts and Tribunal Service , United Kingdom,, is confirmed and held as final and conclusive.

The marriage of the Petitioner with the Respondent shall stand dissolved on the confirmation of this Foreign Decree. Consequently, the Civil Registrar of Salcete at Margao, South Goa is directed to make appropriate endorsement against the Entry No.1995/2018 dated 23.10.2018 in the Marriage Registration book of the year 2018, recording confirmation of the aforementioned Decree of Divorce and cancel such registration.
