Heard learned Advocate Shri.More for Respondents. He relied upon the judgments in case of General Manager, B.E.S.T. Undertaking, Bombay V/s. Agnes1 and Manju Sarkar and others V/s. Mabish Miah and others2 wherein the principle of 'notional extension' was considered.

Whereas according to Mr.Kini, the provisions of beneficial legislation cannot be extended so as to travel beyond the scheme and scope of the statute.
